Hoops of Hope, Spring 2009

Hoops of Hope is a nonprofit organization where participants shoot free-throws to help raise money and awareness for Children orphaned by HIV or AIDS in Zambia. Please come and show your support to FaceAids and support a worthy cause.

FACE AIDS 2010 Winter Concert
February 19, 2009 - 7th week

We are still at the first stages of planning this event. Below are some basic rules for this competition. We will update here ASAP once there is new information.
1. Winner is based on total funds donated to support the cause. This includes tickets $3 (admission for concert), pins $5, T-shirts $12, and donations. For example, if your organization bought one T-shirt, one pin, one ticket, and donated $10. 12+5+3+10=30 The total amount of your donation will be $30.
2.Anyone who already has a pin or t-shirt can enter the concert without buying a ticket.
3.Every participating organization that orders more than 20 t-shirts will receive a plaque from Stanford FACE AIDS headquarters.
4.Every performing organization will receive an additional $100 credit added to their amount of total donation.
The winner of the talent show will receive $200 credit of total donation.(The winner will be voted by all organizations at the concert)
5.Donation Competition starts Week 3 of winter term 2010. Every participating organization may start ordering pins and T-shirts now.
Our actua event date is still undecided, but it will be on the 7th week for sure.

Townspeople Game Day!

Join us for a fun day of games with the residents of Townspeople! Townspeople is a San Diego-based nonprofit organization that has provided a wide variety of housing and supportive services exclusively to the HIV/AIDS community since 1984. Their mission is based upon the principle that men, women, and children living with HIV/AIDS deserve the best possible housing resources.
This Sunday offers a chance to get to know and hang out with the residents at Townspeople and play a variety of fun board games with them from Pictionary to Scattergories to Monopoly! (We will also provide light refreshments and snacks)
The event is from 12-3pm, and we would love for you to join us. We will be meeting at Gilman Parking Structure at 11:30 for all those who need a ride or want to carpool.

If you get a chance, drop by the Revelle Conferene Room ABC by Plaza (cafeteria) for AIDS awareness night next Thursday! We'll likely have an information booth at the event to distribute educational information and to get the word out about Face AIDS.

LBC Quad
As part of Raising Awareness Week (RAW), Tulane's FACE AIDS chapter will set up a demonstration on the LBC quad that features the faces and stories of those affected by HIV/AIDS locally and globally. Pictures and profiles will be hung from strings suspended between stakes all along the perimeter of the quad.
The message? Lives are on the "Line"
